I don't have an issue with the content of the book itself. I wish I would have bought the previous version of the book that included the a dvd with the videos on it because with the access card you have to register on a website and figure out how to access the content that you paid for, and then your access expires after one year. Unfortunately, this book was recommended by the Instructor.
The content is very basic, although nicely done, unnecessary with youtube.
This is a required textbook. I will be keeping this textbook for my library.
DO NOT BUY JUST THE STUDIO CARD!!! This is a huge waste of money and hours of your time trying to make it work. After all my efforts in even finding a way to enter the card code it only gives me flashcards and quizzes. Total waste of my evening. Deeply disappointing and I'm angry at being sold a worthless card. The textbook is better and somewhat explains basic sewing principles. if not required for a class the Threads sewing book is far superior as a teaching tool.

This is the best reference for basic sewing techniques I have ever seen. It is the text for a course that I teach and a staple in my personal sewing library.
Required for a class in apparel design. Great illustrations and easy to follow instructions. Worth having in my reference materials. Fantastic book for beginners!
